Dr. Vera Lee-Schoenfeld's areas of expertise are formal syntax, the syntax-phonology interface, and the syntax-pragmatics interface / information structure. Her particular research focus is on marginally acceptable phenomena in German syntax analyzed in a minimalist framework. Phenomena she has investigated include infinitive constructions of various complexity, verb phrase fronting, binding, inalienable possession, and dative/accusative case alternations. To back up her empirical claims, Dr. Lee-Schoenfeld has conducted questionnaire-based studies and interviews with native speakers as well as corpus searches.
